ccroissant

ccroissant is a cro(i)ss-disciplinary studio operating at the intersection of art, theory, design and craft. The studio approaches the domain of art as a space for play, adopting an ethic of care that emphasises the collaboration inherent in making-thinking. Through the manipulation of language and symbols, (c)croissant represents a shift in perspective—from a breakfast item to a tunnel or a bridge—as a phenomenological exercise and a metamorphosis that challenges conventional approaches (read more about this method here). Currently, the studio focuses on tables: a philosophical and artistic exploration of politics as a space for dialogue. Research methods include organising aperitivos around train tables and playing ping-pong with books. Have a look at some recent flakes.

The studio is created by artist-designer Evi Olde Rikkert (1994, Nijmegen NL) and philosopher-social worker Giovanni Pietracaprina (1988, Florence IT). Evi was affiliated as artistic researcher at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp and was recent resident at Morpho (BE), while Giovanni currently works at reception-centre Arcobaleno in Florence (IT), where ccroissant studio initiated a film club called multisub.club.
